From Los Angeles, California

Christopher Lawrence threw free parties around San Francisco while in college, hauling generators and equipment out to abandoned warehouses, Golden Gate Park, and the beach, and building word-of-mouth crowds that grew from a few dozen people to a few hundred. He moved to Los Angeles in 1994, where his sets took on a harder edge, and picked up production later in the decade after Chris Cowie of the UK trance label Hook Recordings invited him to Scotland to work together.

Since signing to Hook and later founding his own label, Pharmacy Music, he's released a steady run of tracks and mix CDs, including 1999's "Renegade," which earned a preliminary Grammy nomination, and reached No. 4 on DJ Mag's Top 100 poll in 2006. He's also recorded as Fleming & Lawrence with fellow trance DJ John 00 Fleming.
