DJ Dave London

Laurence Samuels, known as Dave London, was born in Cleethorpes, England, and moved to the US in 1991 to study communications, where he began DJing for fun in college before it became a passion rooted in the music he'd grown up with in the UK. He bought his first keyboard in late 1996, and by early 1997 released his first track, "Blazing Pianos," on Florida's Kaleidoscope label under the group name Junior Camp.

His 1997 single "Clap Your Hands," released with Tripoli Trax, became the label's biggest commercial release, reaching number 7 on the UK singles chart and selling over 7,000 copies in two weeks, with support from the late DJ Tony De Vit and airplay on BBC Radio 1. He went on to found his own label, Yes Mate Recordings, in 1997, and was featured in BPM Culture magazine alongside Paul Oakenfold, DJ Icey, and Adam Freeland.
