DJ Jordan

Jordan Cory Werth, known as DJ Jordan, was born and raised in Fresno, California, and worked at the all-vinyl record store Spinner's Records there. Unaffiliated with any of the well-known California crews, he built a reputation as a well-traveled independent DJ on the Midwest rave circuit, playing well over a hundred events across the US by the late 1990s.

He threw his first party in Fresno in April 1993 for around 300 people, going on to organize dozens more over the following years, including a three-day outdoor camping festival near Yosemite with the UK's Spiral Tribe. Beyond DJing, he wrote for San Francisco's Lotus magazine and served as a columnist and advertising salesperson for the Kansas City-based zine High-R Frequencies.

He described his own sets as an eclectic, experimental blend of deep house, techno, acid jazz, and trance, built around a drum-oriented feel, and said Fresno had been more supportive of his DJing than anywhere else he played.
