Biography
Carlos Soul Slinger grew up in Brazil, experienced New York's 1970s disco scene and London's 1980s acid house and 1990s drum and bass movements, before settling permanently in New York in the early 1990s. There he introduced jungle DJing to the US, founding the Liquid Sky record store and clothing line and launching Jungle Sky Records, America's first drum and bass label, with 1994's Jungle Liquid Sky/Ethiopia becoming the label's first release.
He became a central figure in New York's illbient scene alongside DJ Spooky and DJ Olive, releasing his debut album, Don't Believe, in 1997, and went on to co-run the labels Tekhed and Home Entertainment.
