Galen

Galen grew up in San Francisco, discovering the city's underground scene during its psychedelic dance-music moment in the 1990s. Inspired by UK DIY party culture and reggae sound system traditions, he founded Sunset Sound System by setting up a generator and speakers at a park in Berkeley every Sunday, playing records he didn't get to spin anywhere else.

Word spread, and Sunset Sound System grew into boat parties, an annual Sunset Campout Festival, and stages at European festivals, run for 25-plus years alongside co-founder Solar. Galen's own productions include the Sensory Distortion EP on Culprit and Magic Bus on Justin Martin's What To Do label. He now lives in Amsterdam.
