Biography
Matt Salcido got into electronic music in 1995, after friends returned from Germany's Love Parade with a haul of dance music that pulled him into San Francisco's rave scene. He learned to DJ in a friend's garage in 1997.
Salcido studied design and works as a software engineer by trade. Now based in Portland, Oregon, he's run the HD Mixtapes archive project since 2020, restoring and preserving DJ mixes from the cassette and CD era.
