Jon Bishop

Jon Bishop was born and raised in Grand Haven, Michigan, and relocated to San Diego at 20, where he was drawn into the city's underground rave scene and began spinning techno and house at clubs and warehouse parties by 1990. In 1991 he launched Sounds of the Underground on San Diego's 92.5 FM, one of the first radio shows dedicated to electronic music, and the following year co-founded Club Hedonism at Rich's in Hillcrest, which ran weekly for a decade, drew crowds of a thousand or more, and earned coverage in Playboy and Details.

He also held a five-year residency as the main DJ at Studio 64, San Diego's Friday night at club Montage, and in 1999 began a monthly residency at England's Sundissential in Birmingham and Leeds, one of the country's leading hard dance nights. Starting in 1994 he produced music with Daryl Riley, releasing singles including "What It Is" and "Want More?," and remixed Thrill Kill Cult and Pretty Poison, the latter charting on Billboard's Top 50 Dance.
