From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Nigel Richards founded 611 Records in Philadelphia in 1993, the same year he was invited to play for 8,000 people in Stuttgart, Germany, an experience that convinced him to commit fully to DJing. The shop grew from a local record store into a techno-focused label and eventually a clothing line, 611 Lifestyle, releasing mixed CDs from artists including Dieselboy and Derrick Carter alongside his own catalog of more than 50 records.

His tracks have been played and licensed by Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, and Josh Wink among others, and in 2000 he released a mix CD dedicated to the 10,000-plus attendees of Whistle 3, an annual Philadelphia party thrown by Local 13. He's toured all 50 states and more than 20 countries, and closed 611 Records around 2007 before reviving it as an apparel line. He now works in green real estate development in Philadelphia.
