Peshay

Paul Pesce, of British and Italian heritage, was born in London in 1970 and has been DJing since the mid-1980s. An early protégé of Goldie's, he worked on production at 4 Hero's Reinforced Records in the early '90s and debuted on wax with the label's Protégé EP in 1993, before joining Goldie's Metalheadz stable and releasing its second single, "Psychosis."

He also recorded for LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records, including the tracks "The Piano Tune" and "19.5," and played the seminal Metalheadz nights at the Blue Note. In 1995, at the height of drum and bass's mainstream breakthrough, a serious accident left him almost bed-bound for two years, and he returned in 1996 remixing Goldie's "Inner City Life" and "Angel" and contributing to Mo'Wax's Headz II compilation.

Signed to Mo'Wax, he released the single "Miles From Home" in 1998 and the album of the same name in 1999, and founded his own label, Cubik Music Productions, for the albums Fuzion (2002) and Jammin' (2004). He's remixed artists including DJ Shadow, Carl Craig, Innerzone Orchestra, and Courtney Pine, played major festivals including Glastonbury and Montreux Jazz Festival, and continues to release music on his own Peshay Music imprint, founded in 2019.
