Rockers Hi-Fi

Glyn "Bigga" Bush and Richard "DJ Dick" Whittingham formed Rockers Hi-Fi in Birmingham, England, in 1991, initially calling themselves Original Rockers as a nod to Augustus Pablo before renaming at Pablo's request. The duo, soon joined by rapper MC Farda P (Patrick Plummer), applied a dub aesthetic drawn from King Tubby and On-U Sound to house, techno, and jungle, landing a deal with Island Records and releasing the singles "Push Push" and "90° Fuzzwalk."

Their eclectic sound, which evolved into ambient dub and trip-hop, found more traction across continental Europe than in the UK, and after being dropped by Island they signed to German label Downbeat. They released four studio albums, including Rockers to Rockers (1995) and Mish Mash (1996), before disbanding in 1999.
