Sasha

Sasha, born Alexander Coe on September 4, 1969, in Wales, began his career playing acid house in the late 1980s, influenced by the sound of Manchester's Haçienda. After ending a residency at Shelley's nightclub in 1991, he became a resident the following year at a new Mansfield club called Renaissance, where he met John Digweed, and the two began honing their track selection and mixing skills together.

In 1994 they released the triple-CD Renaissance: The Mix Collection, followed in 1996 by Northern Exposure, later ranked by Rolling Stone among the greatest EDM albums ever made, which helped define the progressive house and trance sound of the decade and included God Within's "Raincry" and Rabbit in the Moon's "Out of Body Experience." The duo went on to hold residencies at New York's Twilo and release Northern Exposure 2 and Northern Exposure: Expeditions.

In 2000 Sasha was voted the world's number one DJ by DJ Magazine, and he's since headlined festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella, and Creamfields, and held residencies at Space Ibiza and Fabric.
