Shy FX

Andre Williams, known as Shy FX, was born in London, the grandson of reggae sound system pioneer Count Shelly. He debuted on S.O.U.R. Records in 1994 with the singles "Gangsta Kid" and "Sound of the Beast," and his third release for the label, "Original Nuttah" with UK Apachi, epitomized jungle's ragga-ruffneck style and crashed the British pop charts, becoming one of the genre's most iconic anthems.

He founded Ebony Recordings soon after, releasing classic jungle tunes including "The Message" and "Wolf," with 1997's "Bambaata" hailed as tune of the year. His collaborative work with T. Power reached its biggest impact with "Shake Ur Body" in 2001, released on EMI's Positiva label, followed by the album Set It Off on FFRR in 2002, and in 2005 he folded his labels to focus on the Digital Soundboy imprint, giving a platform to artists including Benny Page and Visionary.
