Slam

Orde Meikle and Stuart McMillan met in 1986 in Sheffield, where Orde was studying geography and Stuart was working in a bar, and together formed the Glasgow techno duo Slam, taking their name from Phuture's track of the same title. They promoted the Atlantis parties in Glasgow from 1989 to 1992, and have run the long-running Slam parties in the city since 1991, alongside co-founding the label Soma Quality Recordings.
