From San Francisco, California

Solar Langevin began DJing in San Francisco's clubs and raves in the early 1990s, a scene where a deep record collection and bold creativity were what set DJs apart. In 1994 he and a few other DJs started bringing a sound system and generator to the Berkeley Marina for free gatherings to dance and watch the sunset over the San Francisco skyline, a tradition that grew from dozens of attendees to thousands and became the Sunset parties.

Known for eclectic sets that blend techno, disco, house, and electro with the energy of punk and psychedelic rock, Solar built a following among discerning Bay Area dancers over nearly two decades behind the decks. More recently he's been a resident and co-creator of the No Way Back parties, earning a reputation as a DJ devoted to mixing and selecting music without regard to passing trends.
