Solvent

Jason Amm, born in Zimbabwe in 1972, is a Toronto-based electronic musician who records as Solvent, blending analog synthesizer pop with strains of IDM and electroclash. He co-founded the Toronto label Suction Records with Lowfish's Gregory DeRocher, releasing his first singles and albums there starting in 1997 before Solvent City (2001) on Berlin's Morr Music introduced his sound to a wider audience.

He moved to Ghostly International for Apples & Synthesizers in 2004 and Subject to Shift in 2010, remixed artists including Soft Cell and Adult., and later produced the documentary I Dream of Wires, about the history of modular synthesizers.
