Tiga

Tiga James Sontag was born in Montreal in 1974, and after time spent immersed in the city's club scene, staged Solstice in 1993, generally considered Montreal's first genuine rave. He bought the record store DNA Records in 1994 and co-founded the nightclub Sona in 1996, becoming a central figure in the city's dance music scene.

In 1998 he founded Turbo Recordings, which went on to launch artists including Chromeo, Azari & III, Gesaffelstein, and Charlotte de Witte. His 2001 collaboration with producer Zyntherius, a cover of Corey Hart's "Sunglasses at Night," reached number two on the UK Dance Chart and topped MTV's Dance Chart for six weeks, and he later performed it on Top of the Pops. His 2006 album Sexor won the Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year, and he's since released Ciao!, No Fantasy Required, and Hotlife.
