Tim Taylor

Tim Taylor's formative moment in dance music came in 1982 at London's Camden Palace, where he saw residents Colin Faver, Eddie Richards, and Rusty Egan. He worked through the 1980s as a London booking agent, representing acts including The KLF and Psychic TV, and booked American DJs for the legendary Energy and Sunrise raves during England's 1989 Summer of Love.

Moving into production in New York, he recorded early tracks with Frankie Mitchell and Tommy Musto as the group Wired, and his 1992 track "The Horn Track," released as Egyptian Empire, became a UK rave sensation that led to deals with FFRR and XL Recordings. As a core artist at Experimental Records, New York's first techno label, he collaborated with Damon Wild on techno classics including "Bang the Acid" and "Afghan Acid."

In 1994 he launched Missile Records in London, and became a founding member of the groups The Pump Panel and Planet of Drums with Dan Zamani. As The Pump Panel, he and Zamani reworked New Order's "Confusion" into "Blood Rave," which was used in the film Blade.
