From San Francisco, California

DJ Tom Thump is originally from Detroit, with a stop in Los Angeles before settling in San Francisco, where he worked as manager and buyer at the well-known Groove Merchant Records. He conceptualized and curated, with DJ BMG, the album Funkadelic: Reworked: By Detroiters, featuring mixes, edits, and covers from Claude Young, Amp Fiddler, Marcellis Pittman, Moodymann, and Mike Banks, among others.

He hosted and played some of San Francisco's biggest club nights, including Release, Budonkadonk!, Twice as Nice, Mushroom Jazz, and Loose Joints, and toured internationally through London, Berlin, Auckland, Sydney, and beyond, sharing bills with Gilles Peterson, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Mark Farina, Thievery Corporation, and Bonobo.
