Uncle Noah

Noah Apodaca, known as Uncle Noah, produces breakbeat and jungle out of Santa Ana, California, under the name GTA. He originally called the project DTA, for Davis Techno Alliance, an homage to DJs Jeyson and Marcone (Hannibal Selecta) he met while in Davis, California, and renamed it GTA once he'd settled back in Southern California.

In 1998 he and Simply Jeff released The Parti EP on Simply Jeff's label, Orbit Transmission Records, pressed on orange marbled vinyl for its first run using leftover colored stock from the pressing plant. The record's cover photos were pulled from raves and events Uncle Noah had DJ'd, and his father, pictured on the sleeve, later contributed guitar samples to GTA's drum and bass cover of Cake's "The Distance." He's continued producing through his own company, Abduction Productions, and has worked on radio programming for UC Irvine's KUCI 88.9 FM.
