About This Mix

In 1992-1993 BRASS was a little Acid Jazz club that formed at a Greek restaurant on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, CA. through friends of friends and at a point when the musical influences in Hip Hop, Jazz, House, and reggae were probably at its peak as far as creativity goes in the music industry.

The weekly Sunday sessions and one off parties thrown by the Brass crew including the first ever promoted shows in L.A. of The Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai, Guru’s Jazzmatazz, The Roots, Born Jamericans, The Pharcyde, MC Solaar, along with some Roy Ayers shows for the good vibes.

This mix was ripped from the original cassette on a Nakamichi BX-300, cleaned up in Ableton, and video encoded at 1080p for the best possible HD sound.
