DJ Trance Mixtapes
Jason Blakemore, known during the early years as DJ Trance, was one of the pioneers of Los Angeles' rave culture, deeply embedded in the Insomniac party circuit from its earliest days in the early 1990s. He performed under the DJ Trance alias from 1992 until 1996, when he transitioned to using his real name - partly because the rise of trance as a named genre was causing confusion about what he actually played. A founding figure of the Southern California underground, he ran three record labels (Bassex, Life Music, and Fiveleg) and co-produced Pure with Xpando under the Rebirth alias, a track that became an anthem of the LA scene.
