Thee-O Mixtapes
Jacob "Thee-O" Ofilas started DJing at 13 and was already a fixture in the early Los Angeles underground by 1992, honing sharp scratching skills on the school dance and house party circuit before rave culture pulled him in a new direction entirely. He founded Biohazard Productions and Studios in 1993 as a collective of like-minded DJs, and threw his first event - "Tomorrowland" - in 1995. After his early rave experiences, he became particularly drawn to the chill-out room, eventually developing a production project called Reef Project - named after his love of aquariums - which yielded two albums of ambient and atmospheric material. On the dance floor or in the studio, genre always came second to feeling - a philosophy that kept him relevant across multiple eras of the West Coast underground.
