Biography
Tim Andren met his future DJ partner Scott Allen as dorm roommates at Chapman University in the LA area, bonding over a shared taste for underground hip hop. Around 1994 the pair picked up turntables and started circulating mixtapes, quickly landing bookings at LA clubs and parties, and formed the duo Neosoul, known for its "2 x 4" style of two DJs on four turntables.
As Andren & Scott Allen, the duo toured the US and Canada playing their breakbeat sound, sharing bills with artists including DJ Dan and Donald Glaude, and released the mix Audiosphere on Dr. Freecloud's Mixing Lab in 1997.
