From Chicago, Illinois

Daniel Garcia was born on Chicago's South Side in 1977 and started DJing at nine, inheriting equipment and records from an older brother who'd been an aspiring DJ himself. At 12 he won a local youth DJ contest and its $50 prize, earning the name Danny the Wildchild, and started out as a hip-hop DJ before the Chicago rave scene pulled him into drum and bass.

He built a style that folded DMC-style scratching and battle tricks into jump-up drum and bass, and was featured in URB Magazine's Next 100 Artists to Watch issue. He's opened for Eminem, Method Man, De La Soul, Moby, and Goldie, toured Europe with DJ Q-Bert in 2002, and hosted a midnight slot on Chicago's Q101FM.
