Biography
Ani Q. Schempf, born in Kansas City, Kansas, joined Deee-Lite as DJ in the mid-1990s, replacing Towa Tei ahead of the group's third album, Dewdrops in the Garden, and toured with them for about a year. After the group disbanded, he built a career as a New York City drum and bass and jungle DJ and producer under the name DJ Ani, releasing under labels including Jungle Sky and X-Sight Records, and used the house-music alias On-E for other sets and mixes, including United DJs of America, Vol. 16 and This Is Jungle Sky Vol. III: I Love NY Jungle.
