Micky Finn

Michael Hearn grew up in South East London, and as a teenager found his way out of trouble with the law through music, taping songs off the radio and editing them into his own mixes before catching Eric B. & Rakim at a local club and deciding to try DJing himself. He became one of the pioneering figures of the jungle scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s, playing pirate stations Fantasy FM and Kool FM alongside contemporaries including Colin Faver.

His first release was "She's Breaking Up" as Bionic Man, and his 1991 track "Some Justice," made with Aphrodite and Claudio Giussani as Urban Shakedown, reached the UK Top 40 on re-release. He and Aphrodite went on to found the label Urban Takeover and release the genre staple "Bad Ass" in 1999, and Micky Finn has since remixed artists including the Jungle Brothers and Busta Rhymes.
