Biography
Scott Henry started spinning records as a freshman at Towson State College near Baltimore in 1985, and by 1990 had moved into techno and house, forming the weekly night Orbit with Charles Feelgood, which ran until 1992. He followed it with Fever, a long-running weekly party in Baltimore, and then Buzz, the Washington, D.C. night he's best known for.
Buzz launched in 1993 at DC's Eastside Club with early lineups including Moby, Little Louie Vega, Frankie Bones, and Josh Wink, and relaunched in 1995 at Nation, where it ran until the club's closure in 2006. URB magazine voted it the country's best weekly party four years running, and after a sensationalized 1999 local news report on drug use temporarily shut it down, Henry relaunched it as Sting. He signed a three-disc deal with Ultra Records, including Scott Henry Presents Buzz: The Politics of Sound.
