From Los Angeles, California

APX-1 built a reputation in Los Angeles for a rough, West Coast, hip-hop-influenced style of drum and bass, playing at major Southern California events including Monster Massive, Together As One, Rewind, Guerilla Warfare, and the Cypress Hill Smokeout, along with LA's underground jungle circuit. In 1997 he founded the artist management company Revolution, representing a roster of West Coast drum and bass talent that included R.A.W., DJ Curious, Hive, and Lion, and in 1999 he co-founded the label Herbn' Music with DJ Curious, focused on ragga-influenced jungle.
