From Los Angeles, California

Jeff Adachi started DJing in Northern California in 1985 before moving to Los Angeles in 1987 for school and a job in the promotions department at KROQ. He and Swedish Egil became mix show hosts on 103.1 Mars FM, one of the first electronic dance stations in the US, performing under the name DJ Spinn until the station went off the air in 1992.

In 1993 he started the label Orbit Transmission, and went on to sign with City of Angels and Moonshine Music. He released his first mix CD, Funk-Da-Fried, in 1997, followed by a second volume and, in 2000, Funky Instrumentalist. He's since run the labels Phonomental and Beyond Zilla, and co-owns the Costa Mesa record shop Dr. Freecloud's Mixing Lab.
