Josh McClintock — Acid Junky Vol. 2 (1994)

About This Mix

Josh McClintock (aka Curious Josh, Joshua, and Josh from NY) has been spinning since 1991 and is a veteran of the Los Angeles / New York underground house scenes having played with some of the biggest DJs like Doc Martin, DJ Pierre, and Legowelt. He was kind enough to lend me some of his mixtapes to share here. Here's Josh in his own words:

"Acid Junky Vol.2" was recorded in Corona Del Mar, C.A. in early 1994. I remember soon after it was finished I would grab my giant portable boom box and walk a couple blocks down to the beach with my friends. There was a hole in the fence and we would duck through that and follow a secret path out to a cliff that was right above the ocean in a little cove. We had a great time listening to that tape over and over out there until the nearby neighbors had finally had enough a few weeks later. The first side was all my heavy hitters at the time. We had to slightly edit the Cheech and Chong intro to make it Youtube friendly. Enjoy!!

This mix was ripped from the original cassette on a Nakamichi BX-300, cleaned up in Ableton, and video encoded at 1080p for the best possible HD sound.
